As I had promised you before I have got some more design artworks which was as fun as the last one. And I used various kinds of tools this time which was also fairly exciting.
Now this was something really unusual because guess what tool I used.
A ruler!
All the straight but short lines I made on this poster is made out of ruler. I dipped some flowing paint on the tip of the ruler and just pressed it on to the paper and it looked like laser lights. Exactly how I wanted it to look like. This is also a lyric from a techno song 'Red Lights' by Tiesto. The song is also amazing.
Anyways I used red, blue, indigo, violet, and purple for the straight lines. And the thick lines at the top and the bottom is done by my poster - colour brush which only needed one clean stroke with each one.
Now this picture unfortunately was taken from my laptop so its mirrored but it says 'LIFE' if you had trouble reading.
This is a typography. I always tried doing typography and I believe that this one is like the 20th trial of my typography artworks. I always failed at it because one, the words weren't straight enough to form a bigger letter. Two, I never had enough words. Three, not all the letters fit the bigger letter. And fourth, I never had the patience to finish till the end.
I am so proud of myself that I actually made a successful typography artwork. I always wanted one on my bedroom wall and looks like I have got a nice 'LIFE' poster on my wall now!
Just for your information this poster is made out of two papers. One is at the back where it is painted greyish black. It is not regular. I just randomly jotted paint on them. And surprisingly it looked nicer than I planned. The beautiful thing about design is that you can find out a lot of things when you didn't even plan it. Half the things I do in design is finding out new things without realising.
The second paper is the white one which I painted with rainbow colours and sadly you can't see it because my computer flash is just too bright.
But let me explain how I made the rainbow colours. I first put the sketch paper inside the water. (I had no idea why I put it inside water. I just found it funny to paint somewhere else than on table.) And then I put some red paint on the paper and it looked really cool because the paint fled everywhere. I didn't even had to bother smudging the edges of each colour because the water did all the work.
And then I cut out little angled triangles as above and just stuck both the papers together and there it is.
After that I started writing the words with a black sharpee.
Now this, as you can see is another design poster I made the second recent one.
And you can see that I am a fan of Lion King. :)
But unfortunately I took this also on my computer so its mirrored but luckily you can see the background colour clearly which is great.
I hope you noticed that this poster has a very unique background colour. It is smudged yes I know I am aware of that but doesn't it look a bit cloudy?
I thought sponge will do a great job with making space - like background and indeed it did.
I used sponge for my background and it did an amazing job with painting my background exactly how I wanted it to be.
* I have got my most recent design art picture with me but this time I took it from my iPad so that nothing will get mirrored or have flash problems like my previous ones. I always learn from my mistakes. :)
Anyways I will post them whenever they get uploaded and I should see you next time! Hope you enjoyed my design artworks because I definitely did.*
